An identical lamp to the Poseidon example of the pair offered here, entitled "Marble Turtle With Triton - Bronze", was by Edward F. Caldwell & Co. in 1903 at the annual exhibit of the Architectural League of New York in the galleries of the Fine Art Society on 215 West 57th Street. A pair of lamps of the same model, depicting Amphitrite and Poseidon, as offered here were sold Christie's New York, 17 October 2017, lot 85 ($68,750). A single lamp featuring Poseidon was sold at Bonham's, New York, 13 April 2011, lot 2124 ($36,600)
